Moving Forward: Exhibition close and Website launch.

The closing night of our current exhibition, 'Protest! Memories of 1968' and the launch of our brand new website and friends of the Arts Centre brochure.

On Saturday, June 16th, South Tipperary Arts Centre will host a free public event to mark the end of the Centre’s current initiative, ‘Protest! Memories of 1968’. The ‘closing night’ of the exhibition at 7:30 pm will allow people to view the final additions to the popular and interesting ‘Protest Wall’ where people of all ages and backgrounds have used the opportunity provided by the exhibition to articulate what they feel needs to be protested today. Responses range from humorous to profound and the Arts Centre has commissioned artist Eimear King to document the participative artwork with a video.

The new Arts Centre team were lucky enough to get funding from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht for an attractive new high-end website which will be launched during the event, with a new Friends scheme inviting people to join the Arts Centre and become part of the arts in Clonmel. Becoming a Friend gives you priority booking and a discount on classes, workshops and events, as well as access to special Friends and Sponsors events and a monthly newsletter keeping you up to date on the wide range of events organised by South Tipperary Arts Centre, both at the Arts Centre itself at its home on Nelson Street in Clonmel, but also at other venues in Clonmel and throughout the region.
