Artistic Director: Request for Tender The South Tipperary Arts Centre seeks to fill a temporary vacancy of Artistic Director. The Centre intends to enter into a Contract for Services in relation to that role for a maximum period of 12 months, with an early commencement date. Applications are being sought by way of a tender for services. 
The Centre is based in Nelson Street, Clonmel and has developed an innovative programme of events that reflects its vision as a proactive centre for arts activities in the region and as a support for the artistic community of the area. Among the organsiations currently supporting its programmes are the Arts Council, Creative Ireland and Tipperary County Council. 
The post of Artistic Director that is the subject of this announcement is a part-time, interim appointment, intended in the first instance, to extend for a period of 12 months. Over this period the role will require attendance at the Centre in Clonmel on 1 day per week. The role will be reviewed after this period. 
Requirements The role will involve responsibility both for ensuring delivery of the Centre’s programme for 2019 which is largely in place, and for developing new programmes into 2020. The Artistic Director will report to the Board of the Arts Centre. She/he will work with the Board and Programme Committee of the Centre and lead in the preparation of grant applications and programming the gallery, building on the achievements of the Centre. She/he will liaise with the Administrator on staff deployment. The Artistic Director will have a key role in assisting the Board to develop the vision of the Centre and in preparing its Management Plan 2019 -2022. 
The successful tenderer will have demonstrated the ability to articulate a creative vision and develop and deliver successfully (time and budget) programmes to support it; will have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to engage with artists, Arts funding bodies, other arts organisations and community groups and the media; have demonstrated ability to work with and direct the activities of support personnel; demonstrated the ability to report on activities, to manage and report on finance and budgets. 
Tender evaluation will address: artistic vision (25%), relevant experience (20%), quality of the tender proposal (20%), Cost (20%), and adding value to the objectives of the Centre (15%). In issuing this Request for Tender there is no obligation implied or commitment otherwise made by the Board to accept the lowest or any tender submitted. 
Tenders should be submitted to the Arts Centre by 17.00 on 20 February 2019. They should be clearly labelled “Tender: Artistic Director (interim). Private and Confidential”. Tenders may be submitted electronically to board@southtippartscentre.ie or in hard copy to South Tipperary Arts Centre, Nelson Street, Clonmel, County Tipperary. Submitted tenders should include: A letter of application and tender proposal Curriculum Vitae Names and contact details of three referees who can be contacted by the Board during the appointment process. 
Applicants may be required to attend for interview during February 2019. The Board reserves the right to award a contract without further reference to or communication with tenderers.
