Join award winning watercolourist Eleanor Christopher for a one-day workshop in Botanical painting. In celebration of Clonmel Applefest, you will learn the 5 secrets to producing a life-like detailed painting of an apple 'good enough to eat'.
A graduate of the Diploma in Botanical Illustration(distinction) from the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, Eleanor combines the practice of mindfulness with her professional art practice. This helps to gain insight and connection with the subject being painted, enhancing observation and creativity. Eleanor enjoys helping people achieve great results and grow in confidence. A demonstration led, stage by stage painting experience for all painters of all standards.

Materials needed for workshop:
good watercolour paper: smooth, hot Pressed 300g, acid free. I use 50% cotton, but any paper suitable for Botanical work would suffice.
2 good quality (fine point) watercolour brushes. (I recommend a size 0 or 1, + either a 2, 3 or 4)
cartridge paper - or any drawing paper
pencil (Hb) and eraser
white ceramic or tin plate - or other palette for mixing colour.
2 jam jars for water
some kitchen roll
optional: magnifying glass could be handy
watercolour paints.  I prefer 5ml tubes, but pans are fine. My preferred colours are:

French ultramarine
cobalt blue
Winsor yellow
Transparent yellow or new gamboge
Scarlet lake or quinacridone red
Permanent rose or alizarin crimson
