Join Artist Austin McQuinn in conversation with Dancer and Choreographer Fearghus Ò Conchùir, about creating Performance work using their own bodies, on their experiences on Residencies, on what influences them and how their individual practices and aspirations converse.
This event follows Imperial Lunatic, McQuinn’s 24hr live-art performance created as artist in residence at STAC Chapel alongside his exhibition Some signs are secret, some manifest.
AUSTIN MC QUINN is an award-winning visual artist and performance expert, living and working in South Tipperary. His has had several solo exhibitions at Project Arts Centre, Dublin, Butler Gallery, Kilkenny and David Cunningham Projects San Francisco and most recently at The Source, Thurles where he first exhibited this new body of inked paintings and sculpture. His work is collected by The Arts Council and many public and private collections in Ireland and U.S.A.
FEARGHUS Ó CONCHÚIR is an independent choreographer and dance artist who works across different media, using film and live performances as frameworks for audiences and artists to build communities together. Fearghus has performed with companies such as Adventures in Motion Pictures, Catapult Dance Company, Ciotóg, Claire Russ Ensemble and Arc Dance Company, among others. From 2018-2020, he was Artistic Director of National Dance Company Wales. He is a founding Associate Artist at Project Arts Centre and Deputy Chair of the Arts Council of Ireland.
