Emerging Narratives is the culmination of a 6 month long mentorship project ‘Social Engagement and Practice –Building for the Future’ developed by South Tipperary Arts Centre and funded by Creative Ireland.
The aim of this project was to go beyond once-off engagement within the local community and instead develop an ecosystem where artists who are interested in, or already have, a socially engaged art practice could develop their practice and work together with groups of their choosing.
Selected artists Annie Hogg & Mags Rudnicka have worked with Workmen’s Boat Club, Clonmel and Clonmel Community Training Centre, respectively, and the work on display in STAC Chapel is a culmination of their time working together.
Annie and Mags have also been mentored by artists Evelyn Broderick, Deirdre O’Mahoney & Kate O’Shea over the last 6 months and a zine documenting the project has been produced with assistance from mentor and artist Kate O’Shea.
