A discussion about the future of towns by a group of architects, focusing on the built environment and public realm spaces in Clonmel.
About this Event Orla Hegarty will facilitate an online discussion with architects Orla Murphy, Louhglin Kealy, Annuntiata Maria Oteri (Politecnico di Milano) and WIT School of Architecture's Sharon O'Brien (WIT) and Miriam Fitzpatrick (UCD/WIT). The starting point is an ecological perspective of the town as human habitat: how to shape that habitat to accommodate the physical, cultural and psychological dimensions of people, while promoting the survival and health of the planet. The discussion is followed by a QA with the architects. The audience are invited to ask questions and comment on the conversation. The conversation will happen to close 'Eyes on the Town - Creating a Vision', a collaborative project between Architecture students at Waterford Institute of Technology and Transition Year students from Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel, which seeks to ask questions about the future of town planning and the way we engage with our built environment by focussing on Clonmel town centre. The students’ work will be available in an online gallery. Tickets: https://bit.ly/3dNzQKM>https://bit.ly/3dNzQKM
